Card Hunt

Curated eBay searches for PSA and CGC graded cards and collectibles

We grade and sell comics, but a slab is a slab. The same discipline that keeps us out of trouble on a CGC 9.8 Spider-Man works on a PSA 10 Charizard or a 1986 Fleer Jordan: check the label, check the population, check recent sales, then buy. These are the eBay searches we run when we are looking at graded cards and other slabbed collectibles, filtered to graded copies and sorted so fresh listings surface first.

Links on this page are eBay affiliate links. If you buy through one, Luxury Slabs may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The cards in these results belong to other eBay sellers; we have not inspected them, and prices and availability are theirs, not ours.

Pokemon, graded

Base Set to modern alt arts. PSA and CGC labels, Buy It Now, newest listings first.

  • Base Set Charizard, PSA graded

The card that carries the whole Pokemon market. Unlimited, Shadowless and 1st Edition are three different price tiers; read the label, not the listing title.

  • 1st Edition Base Set, PSA 9 and 10

1999 Wizards of the Coast first print. The 1st Edition stamp sits under the left side of the art; PSA population reports tell you how scarce each holo really is in 10.

  • Vintage WOTC holos, PSA 9

Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, Neo. PSA 9 is where vintage holos get affordable; the 10s price like Silver Age keys.

  • Japanese Pokemon, PSA 10

Japanese prints grade higher on average, so PSA 10 populations are larger and prices lower. A good place to own a gem of an early card.

Sports cards, graded

Basketball, football and baseball rookies and vintage in PSA holders.

  • 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan, PSA graded

  • Tom Brady rookies, PSA 10

2000 Bowman Chrome, Playoff Contenders, SP Authentic. Several different rookies with very different scarcity; the set name matters more than the player.

1952 Topps is the grail, but 1950s and 60s Mantles in mid grades are where most collectors actually buy.

Beyond cards: graded games, toys and Magic

Other slabbed collectibles where a grade and a census drive the price, exactly like comics.

  • Magic: The Gathering Beta, PSA graded

1993 Beta, the second print of the original set. Graded Beta rares are a thinner market than Pokemon, with far smaller populations; dual lands and Power lead.

  • Sealed video games, WATA and VGA graded

Graded sealed NES, SNES and N64. The seal type and box variant drive price as much as the game; read the label notes.

  • Vintage Kenner Star Wars, AFA graded

1977 to 1985 carded figures graded by AFA. Card back variant and bubble condition are everything.

  • Hot Wheels Redlines, 1968 originals

The first year of Hot Wheels. Spectraflame color and wheel variants separate the common from the four-figure; carded or graded examples are the scarce ones.

Before you buy a graded card on eBay

  1. Verify the certification number. PSA, CGC, BGS and SGC all publish free cert lookups (PSA, CGC Cards). Confirm the card, year, set and grade match the listing before you bid.
  2. Check the population report. A PSA 10 with a population of 40 and a PSA 10 with a population of 40,000 are different assets. The pop report is public; look before you pay a premium.
  3. Match the photos to the label. Ask for the actual slab, front and back, with the cert number readable. Stock images and "card shown is representative" are a pass.
  4. Look at the case, not just the grade. Cracked or scuffed holders, older-generation cases and tampered seals all matter. A grade only means something while the case is intact.
  5. Compare against sold listings, not asking prices. Filter eBay to Sold Items for the exact card and grade. Asks tell you what sellers hope; solds tell you what buyers paid.
  6. Insist on insured, trackable shipping and confirm the return window. Graded-card sales are often final.
